A nation united... ?

As I gaze at the streets of my home town, I see a sad reminder of what used to be, but also a bright glimpse of what could be, diversity optimistically intertwined.

This stormy sea was calmed a long time ago, but this ship has not made it to shore. There is an anchor still holding us back. What prevents them from wanting more for this nation?

The strengths and abilities exist, but fear, greed and ignorance are the unfortunate obstacles. 

United as one? This we should not resist! A colourful nation? What a beautiful miracle.

Proud to be a part of this heritage, saddened that we continue struggling on. Praying for this nation to be united. Hoping... our prayers will be answered.

For the love of life

I have to begin by saying that we should never be afraid of the unknown! We have to try it, explore it, live it! The lessons that can emerge from it are too precious for words. I recently spent some time alone on my travels to Australia, and I know many of you have travelled solo more than what I could ever dream of, but still, all I can do is tell you what the gain through an experience like this is, and maybe someone out there could be inspired or motivated to take that little step to try something new and climb out of their comfort zones. Reflection! I have needed to reflect now more than ever before, and what better way than to throw myself into a new country, in the middle of a bustling city, alone, where no-one knows my name, and without a clue. Being alone opens a mind up to so much more. The absorption of the experience, without any distractions, in its entirety is priceless. Being bored and being boring can be tiresome.
