Union Buildings, Pretoria As I gaze at the streets of my home town, I see a sad reminder of what used to be, but also a bright glimpse of what could be, diversity optimistically intertwined. This stormy sea was calmed a long time ago, but this ship has not made it to shore. There is an anchor still holding us back. What prevents them from wanting more for this nation? The strengths and abilities exist, but fear, greed and ignorance are the unfortunate obstacles.  United as one? This we should not resist! A colourful nation? What a beautiful miracle. Proud to be a part of this heritage, saddened that we continue struggling on. Praying for this nation to be united. Hoping... our prayers will be answered.

Summer is Sniffing on sunscreen. Yellow and Green. Blue summer skies, Black summer skies. Thunderstorms and rainbows, Fresh summer breezes.   It's the heat. The hot sweaty bodies. The freedom of bodies barely clothed. Slumbering in slips. Immersing bodies into pools of water, Coolness and relief.   Gulping down ice cold water. Early morning bird chirps, Running at dusk, Running at dawn. Walking barefoot. Devouring salad, and loving it.   Sea vacations, Salty sticky hair. Heart pumping to the beat of a drum. Life, energy, exaltation!    

Magic keys There is a magical sound It emanates from black and white keys A magic that hits the centre of a blood pumping organ A sudden beautiful explosion of a million tiny stars Stars enlighten and pump heartily through life giving veins A bright life extends through the tips of her toes Light illuminates through the bones of her body Energy radiates

In  a brief moment of sadness many years ago I wrote this poem... I share it on my blog not because this is my mindset now but because it's a piece of me that belongs with my writings and I'm sure many of us feel this way from time to time :)  This may not be a dove, but it is a Hornbill , and one of feather that I shared a special moment with in 2012 This dark day has dawned upon me My hearts reaction still a mystery The secret of this turmoil still untold During which I become dreary and old A bird without feather unable to flock Caught in this chamber with no key to this lock My world silently shatters, no-one hears a sound While my heart beats with a deafening pound This lonely soul is screaming out for love It's a useless plight from this forgotten dove Who forever shall walk this cold earth alone Adapting to always being unknown These feelings unwillingly self-imposed By which this heart is completely engrossed Acknowledgement needed before I grow...

On this eve the moon will plant the seed of insomnia The moon, but a dull glow without the shimmering sun An illuminated ball of hope, a sphere of light encapsulated Enigmatic explosion of light irradiates this tiny world...   The photograph taken of the June 2011 Eclipse   Glad I was able to capture this :)
